How to prepare yourself for Revival

     Personal revival is something every single one of us must experience. Revival is getting back to the way things God always intended them to be. It is in essence what our fellowship with Christ should always look like. Here you will find a list of questions separated into different categories. As you ask yourself these questions, prayerfully ask the Lord to reveal areas of your life that He desires to change. 

  • Forgiveness

    Matthew 6:14-15

    1. Is there anyone against whom you hold a grudge? 

    2. Is there anyone you have not forgiven?

    3. Is there anyone you hate?

    4. Is there anyone you do not love?

    5. Are there any misunderstandings you are unwilling to forget?

    6. Is there any person against whom you are harboring bitterness? 

    7. Is there anyone of whom you are jealous? 


  • Christ Above All Else

    Matthew 6:33

    1. Is there anything in which you have failed to put God first? 

    2. Have your decisions been made after your own wisdom and desires, rather than seeking and following God’s will? 

    3. Do any of the following, in any way, interfere with your surrender and servitude to God: ambition, pleasures, loved ones, friendship, desire for recognition, money, or your own plans? 


  • Awareness of Souls 

    Mark 16:15 

    1. Have you failed to seek the Lost for Christ? 

    2. Have you failed to witness constantly? 

    3. has your life failed to show the lost the Lord Jesus? 


  • Love the Brethren 

    John 13:35

    1. Are you secretly pleased over the misfortune of another? 

    2. Are you secretly annoyed over the accomplishments or advancements of another? 

    3. Are you guilty of contention or strife? 

    4. Do you quarrel, argue, or engage in frivolous discussions? 

    5. Are you a partaker in any ungodly divisions, or party spirits? 

    6. Are there people whom you deliberately slight? 


  • Giving all to God

    Acts 20:35 

    1. Have you robbed God by withholding His due of time, talents, or money? 

    2. Have you robbed God by withholding your income for God’s work? 

    3. Have you failed to support mission work either in prayer or offerings? 


  • Faithfulness Before the Lord

    1 Corinthians 4:2

    1. Are you undependable so that you cannot be trusted with responsibilities in the Lord’s work? 

    2. Are you allowing your emotions to be stirred for the things of the Lord but you are do nothing about it? 


  • Discipline and Spirit-Control

    1 Corinthians 6:19-20

    1. Are you in anyway careless with your body? 

    2. Do you fail to care for your body as the temple of the Holy Spirit? 

    3. Are you guilty of intemperance in eating or drinking? 

    4. Do you have any habits which are defiling to the body? ​​


  • Deflecting Glory to Where it Belongs

    1 Corinthians 10:31

    1. Do you take the slightest credit for anything good about you, rather than give all the glory to God? 

    2. Do you talk of what you have done rather than of what Christ has done? 

    3. Are your statements mostly filled with “I”? 

    4. Are your feelings hurt easily? 

    5. Have you made a pretense of being something you are not? 


  • Leaning upon the Sufficiency of Christ 

    Ephesians 3:20 

    1. Are you self-conscious rather than Christ-conscious? 

    2. Do you allow feelings of inferiority to keep you from attempting what ought in serving God? 

    3. Is there anything in your life that you lean on and depend on rather then Jesus Christ? 


  • Others first — Me last 

    Ephesians 4:28

    1. Do you underpay your workers?

    2. Do you accomplish very little in your work? 

    3. Have you been carless in the payment of your debts? 

    4. Do you waste time? 

    5. Do you waste other people’s time? 


  • Kindness and Thoughtfulness

    Ephesians 4:31

    1. Do you complain? 

    2. Are you a fault-finder? 

    3. Do you have a critical attitude towards any person or thing? 

    4. Are you irritable and cranky? 

    5. Do you ever cary hidden anger? 

    6. Do you get angry easily or frequently?

    7. Do you become impatient with others? 

    8. Are you ever harsh or unkind? 


  • My Time is God’s

    Ephesians 5:16 

    1. Do you watch TV shows that in anyway dishonor God? 

    2. Have you clicked on websites that are frivolous, impure, or inappropriate for a Christian to view? 

    3. Are you indecent in your social networking habits? 

    4. Have you formed ties with others via text-messaging which should not be formed 

    5. Do you partake in unholy amusements? 


  • Thankfulness 

    Ephesians 5:20 

    1. Have you neglected to thank Him for all things, the seemingly bad as well as the good? 

    2. Have you virtually called God a liar by doubting His Word? 

    3. Do you worry? 

    4. Is your spiritual temperature based on your feelings instead of on the facts of God’s Word? 


  • Christ Alone

    Philippians 1:21

    1. Are you taken up with the cares of this life? 

    2. Does your conversation or heart joy over “things” rather than the Lord and His Word? 

    3. Does anything mean more to you than living for and pleasing Christ? 


  • Tongue Control

    Philippians 2:14

    1. Do you ever by word or deed seek to hurt someone? 

    2. Do you gossip? 

    3. Do you speak unkindly concerning people when they are not present? 

    4. Do you carry prejudice against true believers because they are of some different social or ethic group than yours, or because they don’t see something just like you? 


  • Rejoicing in God’s Goodness

    Philippians 4:4

    1. Have you neglected to seek to be pleasing to Christ in all things? 

    2. Do you carry bitterness against God? 

    3. Have you complained against Him in any way? 

    4. Have you been dissatisfied with His provisions for you? 

    5. Is there in your heart any unwillingness to obey God fully?

    6. Have you disobeyed some direct leading from the Lord? 


  • Speaking the Truth

    Colossians 3:9

    1. Do you engage in empty and unprofitable conversations? 

    2. Do you find it easy to lie? 

    3. Do you ever exaggerate the truth? 

    4. Carefully consider — do you overcharge? 


  • Purity is a Must

    2 Timothy 2:22

    1. Do you have any personal habits that are not pure? 

    2. Do you allow insure thought about the opposite sex to stay in your mind? 

    3. Do you read or look at that which is impure or suggest unholy things? 

    4. Do you indulge in any unclean entertainment? 


  • Church attendance & devotion to God

    Hebrew 10:25

    1. Do you stay away from the preaching of the gospel and the Word? 

    2. Do you whisper, write notes, or think about other things while God’s Word is being read or preacher? 

    3. Are you irregular in attendance at services? 

    4. Do you neglect to attend or participate in prayer meetings? 

    5. Have you neglected or slighted daily prayer? 

    6. Have you neglected God’s Word? 

    7. Do you find the Bible or prayer uninteresting? 


  • Submission to Authority

    Hebrews 13:7

    1. Do you hesitate to submit to leaders in the church or elsewhere? 

    2. Are you lazy? 

    3. Do you rebel at request given to you to help in the work of the Gospel? 

    4. Do you in any way have a stubborn or unteachable spirit? 


  • Humility 

    James 4:6

    1. Do you feel that you are doing all right as a Christian? 

    2. Do you insist on having your own way? 

    3. Do you insist on your “rights”? 

    4. Do you find yourself in contentions situations? 

    5. Do you find yourself thinking about others who need to take this questionnaire rather then understanding that you do? 


  • Holy Spirit Dependence

    Ephesians 5:18

    1. Does you life lack the fruit of the Spirit? 

    2. Have you been functioning, operating, and working in the engird of the flesh? 

    3. Do you daily neglect to ask the Holy Spirit to fill, control, empower, and enable you? 

    4. Is a personal & vibrant relations with the Holy Spirit missing from your life? 

    5. Do you fail to see visible evince of the fruit of souls in your life? 


  • Reconciliation

    James 4:11

    1. Have you dishonored Christ and hindered His work by criticizing His servants? 

    2. Have you failed to pray regularly for your pastor and other spiritual leaders? 

    3. Do you find it hard to be corrected? 

    4. Is there rebellion towards one who wants to restore you? 

    5. Are you more concerned about what people will think than what will be pleasing to God?
